Do we equate influence to work or luck?
Or should I start with - do you believe in luck?
I do have a routine where I read The Richest Man in Babylon every year.
I haven’t done that yet.
Here is what the book says about luck
Good luck is not accidental but comes to those who seize opportunities
Good luck often follows opportunity, and procrastination prevents people from taking advantage of it
Taking action is necessary to see the fruits of good luck
Good luck rewards those who earn it
Good Luck Favors Those Who Take Action - "If a man be lucky, there is no foretelling the possible extent of his good fortune. Pitch him into the Euphrates and like as not he will swim out with a pearl in his hand." — Babylonian Proverb
Men of action are favoured by the goddess of good luck. There is a common notion that those who acquire great wealth are just lucky. Without seeing the details of the entire story, it can be easy to condense someone’s wealth into just a string of good fortune, there is opportunity all around us if we are looking for it. But without taking action, we’ll never see the fruits of our “good luck”. Where the determination is, the way can be found.

I also was watching a video by Simon Sinek where he interviewed someone and what she said was - that you really don’t need ‘motivation’ to get things done, you just need to grow up and just do it.
She talked about why the slogan of Nike is very powerful - Just Do it.
She said the powerful word there isn’t both - Do it but - JUST
Sometimes you need to JUST do it - take action even when you feel lazy.
By the way - I am a fan of Nike’s Videos - they are always creative and dope. (2024-25)
I am meant to be talking about influence right? Sorry.
But I need to lay a proper foundation.
In the next series, we will discuss what influence really means, but for now, let’s build the foundation.
I remember my dad and mum, they are a perfect example of people who did it even when it wasn’t all rosy.
They had to step out and work even when they had no boss to report to.
No excuses, just work.
Unless they were really down on the sick bed, I am sure my Dad would be at work.
For most of us, the only reason why we do our work diligently is because someone manages us. Because you have a boss.
In building influence this year, you need to put in the work.
Influence comes in different sizes and as a result of the work you do.
And definitely, as much as God blows your trumpet.
You see some people on Social Media and say they got lucky (lol), but they actually did the work before they got lucky or they climbed on the work of someone to get to where they are right now
and it is taking them a lot of work to stay there (at the top)
Today, I was also thinking about how consistent Oba Reengy has been with his Music, today he is known and has paved the way for a lot of AfroGospel Artists that even have more global influence than him.
the end result of influence is so that you can make an impact greater than you.
That’s the Joy of fathers, seeing their sons do greater things than them.
Influence is very crucial, especially in this End Times.
With influence backed by God, we can reach a greater number of people and harvest.
That’s why you must stay in God, take action, and wait for that influence to grow.
Influence isn’t bad.
At least I have a little influence writing to you and you reading right now.
In this age, we all have influence, what you do with it is what truly matters.
How many reaches do you get monthly on your socials
(let’s pick just WhatsApp Status)
What do you do with it?
I will end here today and talk more next week.
You might get an Ad from me every Saturday. Giving you a heads-up. (I don’t know yet)
Talk to you later.
let's invite your friends and family to join us too. (loads of value this year)
This Week’s Ponder
The end result of influence is impact - define your impact by the results you see in others.
The people you follow - what is the result you see in their followers?
